Had a one day layover in JFK and wanted to see Queens! Close to airport and train to the places in NE Queens I wanted to visit, then continued on to Manhattan and eventually made it back to JFK. Laney was helpful and made sure I got there alright and followed up with me the next day. Great place to get some sleep and be ready to explore in the morning. About a $20 cab ride from JFK-- was easier than navigating train later at night after long day.

Lane was very responsive to my messages. Lane's sister was very friendly during my stay and made sure I had everything I needed. The room itself is quite comfortable, and I slept great! Quiet and clean apartment in a nice neighborhood. Train is just a short walk away. Just be sure to bring your own towel and soap. Well worth the money, 5/5 would stay again.

We had a great stay here! From the moment we (My 4y/o Godson and I) arrived we felt welcomed and very accommodated. Annette made sure we were comfortable and even texted to check on us when we didn't come back one night. She is the best! Its clean, has a nice kitchen, and its in a nice neighborhood... a quick walk to the subway. She made me feel like I was a part of their family and that meant a lot because I am here alone. I wish we could've stayed longer and will definitely return if need be... Thanks so much, Ladies!!

Omg where do I start?!?! Lane is so sweet and gorg. She answered all of my questions before I arrived. I felt so comfortable that I had to hug her when I saw her. We didn't interact because I was so tired and had a flight to catch in the morning. Her sister welcomed me when I arrived. The sheets were clean, the room is as pictured but I was cold in the middle of the night (but I'm always cold) also someone started playing music at 11pm until 11:45pm. It was very loud but not Lanes fault. I'd stay with Lane again

Lane was very responsive with any questions I had. I never met her but she was very friendly and helpful. Check in was with her sister who was also cordial. Room is basic, nothing special, but enough for me who just needed a place to sleep, shower, and store luggage. Lane was nice enough to let me check in early and leave luggage / chill on the couch for a while. Good place if you don't need anything fancy.

Lane's sister arranged my arrival as Lane as out of town. If you need a good rest/sleep, this room is the perfect choice as it's incredibly calming and quiet. The house is very clean and the people were nice and quiet. The neighborhood is one of the better/safer neighborhoods in New York. NB: the layout is a bit confusing despite it being a grid system, and asking for directions can be rough as the people don't really know where the street is.

Lane and Annette, her sister made me feel more than welcome, the room looks exactly like what was listed. The neighbourhood, very peaceful and about fifteen to thirty minutes drive from the JFK Airport, depending on traffic. Annette was available to describe to the cab driver just how to get to the apartment which was extremely useful considering my taxi was metered. I had been in the air for a total period of 22 hours so I thought I would just rest a little and then go out a-discovering the Queens neighbourhood, thanks to information already supplied by Annette, but the peace and basic comfort of the room and surroundings conspired to ensuring that I did not wake up until much later in the night when most shops were closed or near to closing.

Although i got a little lost on the way there, Lane came down to greet me and made me feel at home for the one night I stayed! Everyone was friendly and kind, and they advised how best to get to JFK from the flat. Very big and comfy bed, clean and warm apartment. Would definitely stay again!

Both were polite and accomodating people and even helped me with directions, what transportaion to take etc. The room and the house itself were pretty well maintained and neat. The bed was large enough for 2 people and comfortable. The neighbourhood was also pretty safe and quite. A good experience over all.

Nice neighborhood. Room was just as advertised and clean. I first arrived at three and easily found parking. I left and came back around 7:30 or so. I had to park a couple of blocks away. But the neighborhood was so nice it didn't bother me at all. (Just as a planning tip) When I first got to the apartment I met Annette, Lane's sister, and she was very, very nice. Lane handled the communication and logistics well. Would definitely stay again.

The room was as pictured. This is a no frills place lived in by several people. There is a small shared bathroom that could use a bit of TLC. It was fine for my one night stay after many hours on a plane.

Great, quiet neighborhood not too far from JFK! We got in really late, our flight delayed, but Lane and her sister were so understanding. The room was just as described-- quaint but perfect for a good nights sleep and the train into the city is <15 minutes walk from the house.

They let me put some food in the refrigerator over night. Nice neighborhood - although warning for drivers is that it is not easy to find parking in this neighborhood. Great value for the price.

Lane hat mich abends erwartet und hat mir zugesichert, ich könne auch erst um 11 pm kommen. Gott sei dank war mein Flug pünktlich und die Einreise verlief ohne Verzögerung, also konnte ich schon um 10pm in mein zimmer. Durch den Flug war ich sehr erschöpft und ging nach einer kurzen Dusche gleich ins Bett. Das Zimmer ist geräumig und mit einem großen Bett und einem Ventilator ausgestattet. Der war auch dringend notwendig, da es in New York im Juli sehr heiß ist. Lane war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Da ich aber am nächsten Tag schon um 5 am aus dem Haus bin, kann ich recht viel mehr auch nicht sagen. Die Nacht war ruhig und angenehm. Danke für die Gastfreundschaft, Lane!

Annette and Lane were friendly. Contact via email prior to arrival was easy and Lane always responded quickly. During our stay we didn't have much Interaktion with Lane and Annette though, since we were gone exploring the city most of the time. The room was fine and just like depicted, but, as mentioned in previous comments, quite hot. The subway was only a short walk away, however, if there were constructions or delays, it sometimes took us over an hour to get into Manhatten - so just be aware of that. If you are planning to cook while in New York, I wouldn't necessarily recommend their place as the kitchen was rather poorly equipped and the cupboards above the stove were pretty greasy. Altogether: if you are just staying for a couple of nights and don't expect to be right at the edge of Manhatten, it's a good place to stay at.

I had a fantastic stay in Lane's apartment! The area was really quiet and perfect to relax and get a good sleep after a full day of touring New York. I had keys to the apartment and was able to come and leave whenever I wanted to. Lane's sister was my contact person during the stay and the friendliness and hospitality really stood out - thanks for the great accommodation, would love to come again when I re-visit NY!

Lanes home is a nice place in Queens and we slept there for one night. There are two ventilators, but they don't cool as much as a Air-Condition would - for one night it's ok, for longer I wouldn't stay here again because it gets really warm. The neighborhood is nice, there are some restaurants around and the subway links to NYC. We didn't see Lane but her sister and she was nice welcoming us and allowing us to leave our baggage for some more hours.

It was a pleasant stay, they had no problem with out late arrival ( 2:30 a.m.). It is a simple, but comfortable room. Is important to note that if you bring a lot of luggage you will have to carry up over 3 floors of stretch stairs. We have little interaction with Annett, since we arrive late and just stay there for the night.

Lane and her sister Anette were very easygoing, they were always in contact. The neighborhood is very calm and safe, really close to the subway station that connects JFK airport to Manhattan. The house and room was very clean, and quiet which makes it excellent to have good a comfortable rest. They allowed me to leave my luggage before and after check-in so that I could do some sightseeing in the area. I recommend them a lot!

Even though we have never met Lane, we have met her sister Anette, which was also very nice and easygoing with our late hour of arrival. Our room was very simple and small but enough for two people (I would recommend to be careful around the corners of the bed). Althought there was a slight effort of communication between us and Anette, I didn't really feel that welcomed like with our previous hosts, which might have made me look little bit uneasy. There was also very big traffic around the single bathroom which took away little bit of our privacy. In any case the apartament title is not misleading. It was a very clean and comfortable stay.

We were welcomed on our arrival and our questions were answered immediately. We had a very comfortable stay. We have shared bathroom but it does not make our experience less pleasing. Kudos to the cleanliness of the house and restroom. Though we only have two fans in our room, we slept quite comfortably. Our stay in New York is like staying in a new home away from home. We do not have issues on safety. The walk towards Union Turnpike Station is around 10mins from our place. Lane's place is highly recommended for tourists and travelers who needed a room to stay for their vacation.

The neighborhood has a nice calmness to it, and it's a short walk to Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills which has numerous eateries and grocery stores, if you are looking for that. 10 minute walk to the E/F express train to Manhattan, on Queens Blvd.

Location isn't ideal if you're wanting to walk around but it is close enough to the metro so you can get into the city! Perfect place to stay if needing a stopping point while flying. Be aware that the room is on the third floor of an apartment complex.

Fantastic location just a short walk from the F and E train station to Manhattan as well as the shops and restaurants along Queens Blvd. We were hosted by Anette, who was very gracious, friendly and accommodating the entire trip. The apartment and the guest room was clean and pleasant. The apartment is located on the third floor of the building and it is worth noting the room lacks central air conditioning but there are quiet fans placed in the room so it's not a big deal. I definitely recommend this as a great value for anyone who wants somewhere to stay in Queens.

Whilst I did not meet Lane herself her sister Annette was incredibly warm and welcoming. The flat/room is very clean and comfortable after long forays into the city. Its also a great location, as the express subway into Manhattan is a short walk away. Great host. Enjoyed my stay.

Lane and her sister, Anette, are so sweet! This is a perfect place if you're thinking of exploring the city and you need a place to sleep. Although I would've felt very comfortable hanging out in the apartment, we were only in NYC for a few days and wanted to do exploring. Coming and going was never a problem, and we had our own set of keys to go in and out. I wish I could say more but we were literally always out and about. Towels were available when we needed them and also extra blankets. There isn't air conditioning in the room but the fans kept it cool. I would definitely stay here again!

The place is only ten minute walk to the nearest subway station and 30 min ride into Manhattan. The neighborhood felt very quiet and safe our entire stay. Originally planned on arriving in the evening but due to some delays on our end we had to arrive in the middle of the night. In spite of this, Lane and her sister were very gracious ensuring we made it safely and welcoming us when we got there. The apartment was very clean and you get your own set of keys to go in and out as you wish. Overall great affordable place to stay and super friendly hosts. Would stay again.

The area is safe, once I came back at 4 a.m. and I had no problems. Close to the JFK airport and La Guardia airport, taxi to the JFK airport is about 20$.It takes 30-40 min to get to Manhattan, which is not bad for such a big city. I spent in this apartment about 10 days and I was always happy to come back after a long day. Highly recommend!

Lane and her sister Anette were excellent hosts. I was actually out and about pretty much the whole time from the moment I landed so I only dealt with Anette, but she was super friendly and pleasant. They keep their place clean and presentable so be sure to take your shoes off at the door! Their spot is in Jamaica, Queens and about an 8-10 min walk to the F and E trains at the Kew Gardens stop so it's super easy to get to and from the city and JFK. If you love NY pizza as much as I do, there's a spot not far from the trains on Queens Blvd right next to the McDonlads and a cafe as well as other eateries and shops. However, if you'd prefer to cook, they do have a kitchen, which I did not take advantage of. Again, I was out and about pretty much the whole time, but Lane's place is an excellent place if you need a clean bed and shower. Oh, and if I'm not mistaken I saw a Keurig, which I also did not take advantage of, but if you need some caffeine to start your day, then boom!

Great option for anyone needing a place to stay close to JFK airport. The location is within walking distance from the Kew Gardens E/J Subway, and close to stores and fast food. It is also right next to a major highway in Queens, which makes for easy road access. The exact apartment is a bit hard to find so I recommend communications with Lane as the date of the stay gets closer so that she can help you find her place and coordinate your check-in. The room is located in a third-floor apartment, and you need to use stairs to get there. Lane is a fantastic host. She is very responsive on email and helpful. In all, I had a good experience because of the location and Lane's hospitality.

First off. This is an amazing location very quiet and I first met Lane sister Annet I believe I spelled it right she was a fantastic Host. The subway isn’t too far at all from her place so we could walk over and head back to Manhattan or Brooklyn if we wished. There is only electronic fans in the room, but you are able to feel the breeze at night with the windows open, so it’s nice. Nice place with friendly hosts.

I didn’t get to meet Lane but I did meet her sister, Anette. She was very kind and welcoming, and she would answer every question that I had. As for the place, good location. The subway is near, around 10 mins by walk. The only con is that there is no AC in the bedroom which was already stated in their description. I didn’t think it would be an issue, but it was very hot (32 degrees Celsius) that day so it definitely would have been nicer to have had ac. Other than that, very hospitable hosts and they have all the amenities like was mentioned.

This is great if you’re looking for a basic, economical place to stay in New York. What you get is very fair for the price. It’s a ten minute walk to the subway (kew gardens I think) and the area was quiet and felt safe. It’s an older building but it’s obvious that they keep it clean and tidy. Anette, Lane’s sister lives there, cleans it, and communicates with you. She is very kind and hospitable. Note that there are other long term renters in the apartment too.

You're in NY so if you were planning on only staying in your room your entire trip then you'd be disappointed with the space because you get what you pay for...But like I said I was practically never there just to sleep or shower...Everyone was quiet and the place was clean...Not having AC was different since coming from Florida we always have the AC blasting but thankfully was cool enough to have the window and fan blowing. It's a decent place to keep your belongings as you explore the city.

Anette, Lane's sister, is one of the most hospitable hosts you will find. The place is what you would expect from a budget NYC airbnb, but the host keeps it as clean as possible. One part I didn't like particularly is the location, if you are fine with a 12-15 minutes walk from the closest subway station this won't be an issue for you, the area seemed safe. Overall, great place to sleep for a night or two, would recommend it.
